More Condensed, Less Technical Introduction

Our long term research goal is to understand how a living cell regulates expression of its genome to generate and maintain its proper structure and function, and how deregulated expression results in disease processes such as cancer. In order to achieve this objective, we are developing integrated experimental and computational strategies for discovery and analysis of functional and structural elements in the human genome. We employ these methods to investigate the molecular mechanisms responsible for regulated expression of the human genome in normal cells and how these mechanisms go awry in cancer cells.
